Boulangerie la gourmandise

This is a boulangerie located near CIUP with an incredible 10 minute walk from MIDF (15 from FEU) through the lively suburbs of Arcueil laden with trees of all colors in the spring. This time I decided to review something different, as I believe we need more holistic assessments of the boulangeries here, which offer much more than just croissants and pain au chocolat. Thus, today I went with the mousse citron (lemon mousse), a slice of mousse cake with chocolate cake layers filled with cream and lemon syrup lathered on its surface, with more filled in the center. The cherry on top was half a macaron. On the first bite, I felt the cake was flavorful but dry, but after getting to the lemon syrup filling, that problem vanished immediately. The sourness from the lemon coupled with the chocolate cake and cream harmonized beautifully, and when the macaron topping joined in I simply couldn’t get enough with its perfect blend of sweet and sour. This was certainly one of the more unique items I’ve tried in my time here with an absolutely phenomenal flavor profile at an unbeatable €2.90. I would hence like to rate this bakery a 9/10.
